MathWorks' solutions are heavily used in the electronics industries, defense and aerospace, communications, finance, biotechnology, automotive, medical devices, academia, and more.
The MATLAB® software from MathWorks is at its core built around vectors and matrices. This makes it particularly useful for linear algebra, but it is also a great tool for solving algebraic and differential equations and for numerical integration.
Beyond that, MATLAB® provides a high-level language and interactive environment used by millions of engineers and scientists worldwide. MATLAB facilitates the exploring and visualizing of ideas, and simplified collaboration across disciplines, including signal and image processing, communications, control systems, and computational finance.
Simulink is a model-based design environment based on planning models (block diagrams). Simulink supports simulation, code generation, and continuous verification of embedded systems. Users can incorporate MATLAB algorithms in their Simulink models and then export their simulation results to MATLAB for further analysis.
