MATLAB & Simulink at the Technion

The Technion (Israel Institute of Technology) has a full organizational license for all MATLAB & Simulink products and add-on products.

The license grants free access to academic use by faculty, researchers and students at the Technion, on personal computers and on university-owned computers, on campus and outside.
The license provides the widest and most up-to-date array of products, supporting everything from introductory level courses to advanced academic research.Each year, in March and September, MathWorks releases a new versions that will be available to all Technion users as well as previous software versions supported by MathWorks.
Two million engineers and more than 3.5 million researchers, professors and students around the world use MATLAB, Simulink and the various Toolboxes to design innovative systems and products that change our world.

Get Access – Download and install MATLAB and Simulink Products:

Faculty, Researchers, and Staff

End Users: Download the Installer

  1. Create a MathWorks Account using your email address with
    @technion.ac.il suffix only www.mathworks.com/accesslogin/createProfile.do.
  2. Go to the License Center: mathworks.com/licensecenter.
  3. Click Add License in the upper right hand corner.
  4. Choose Associate by Activation Key and click Continue.
  5. When prompted to do so, enter the Activation Key as follows:
    19235-54269-43449-09005-80580
  6. Go to: mathworks.com/downloads/web_downloads/select_release.
  7. Click the download button for the current release.
  8. Click the installer button to download the installer.

End Users: Install and Activate

  1. Locate the installer you downloaded in a file browser. It should be located in the default download location, unless you specified another location. The name of the installer file is:
    • Windows: matlab_ _win64.exe
    • Mac OS X: matlab_ _maci64.zip Where represents the release number.
  2. Start the installer:
    • Windows: Double-click the installer file you downloaded in the previous step. The Windows Self-Extractor runs, and then the installer starts.
    • Mac OS X: Double-click the installer file you downloaded in the previous step. This action extracts the files and creates another folder called matlab__maci64, where represents the release number. Inside this folder, double-click InstallForMacOSX to start the installer.
  3. In the MathWorks installer, select Log in with a MathWorks Account and follow the online instructions.
  4. When prompted to do so, select the license you want to use.
  5. Select the products you want to download and install.
  6. After downloading and installing your products, keep the Activate MATLAB checkbox selected and click Next.

Students (undergraduates and graduates)

Students: Download the Installer

  1. Create a MathWorks Account using your email address with @campus.technion.ac.il suffix only www.mathworks.com/accesslogin/createProfile.do .
  2. Go to the License Center: mathworks.com/licensecenter.
  3. Click Add License in the upper right hand corner.
  4. Choose Associate by Activation Key and click Continue.
  5. When prompted to do so, enter the Activation Key as follows:
    15181-83367-62781-98792-89181
  6. Go to: mathworks.com/downloads/web_downloads/select_release.
  7. Click the download button for the current release.
  8. Click the installer button to download the installer.

Students: Install and Activate
